Things to Do
Leesburg loves to celebrate. Head to the annual Memorial Day Parade, beginning at the town hall and ending at the Leesburg Cemetery. Witness a flag-raising ceremony led by the Scouts before the parade.
To celebrate the birth of our country, plan to attend the
Fourth of July Fireworks on Tippecanoe Lake. Fireworks are set off from the middle of the lake using a large barge, so there is always an excellent spot for viewing. Spend the day with family and friends and end it with this spectacular fireworks show.
Kick off the holiday season and celebrate the fantastic community of Leesburg at the Candelaria and Christmas Party each December. Santa visits the children, and you can sip hot drinks with cookies at the firehouse downtown. Over 1,000 paper lanterns, also known as luminaries, line the streets each year for this memorable tradition.
Once an Indian trading post in 1838, the
Pound Store Museum is the oldest commercial building in the U.S. Recorded on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum underwent an involved renovation, recreating the appearance of what was once the original Pound General Store.
